1975 SEIKO Golden Chronograph Automatic Ref. 6139-6015 Wristwatch
Dated from August 1972, this is a vintage Seiko Golden chronograph automatic wristwatch, reference 6139-6015. This watch is also known as the “Gold Bruce Lee” watch as the famous actor Bruce Lee wore a 6139, first appear in 1969 and it was a black dial version.
Today, we have the “Golden Bruce Lee” version featuring the more unusual Seiko gold case with gold starburst dial, which is a beautiful color particularly in the hand.
It is a self-winding watch powered by an original Seiko automatic chronograph (60 seconds – 30 minutes – pillar wheel – no manual wind) movement with a sophisticated excentre self-winding mechanism with just one gear stage. It features the caliber 6139B, 17 jewels, day/date indicator (day quicksets by pushing the crown deeper, 2 languages / date quicksets by pushing the crown less deep), 45 hours power reserve, 21,600 A/h, Japan made.
Considered by many, the 6139 is the first automatic chronograph marketed early in 1969 for the Japanese market. The 6139 movement is also a well-known and highly regarded workhorse, with many different dial combinations offered.
After 50 years, it still the original gold sunburst dial featuring black baton hour markers, luminous dots, and black/luminous matching hands. Bold minute/second track and fixed inner bezel with the tachymeter scale. Black sweep second hand for the chronograph and the 30-minute sub-dial is located at 6 o’clock. The day/date window is located at 3 o’clock. The dial is also signed with the Seiko name/logo and Automatic.
Cased in a 38.5mm cushion case with brush finish and fixed bezel. Base metal top (gold plated) and stainless-steel screwdown case back. Water resistant. Original unsigned crown and pushers – top pusher: chrono start/stop and bottom pusher: chrono reset.
This watch also comes on the original Seiko fold over clasp bracelet that will fit a wrist up to 6 3/4” (17.2cm).
It is a very good looking watch. Runs very well and keeps great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended. Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
It will be carefully packed.
